This week we were proud to talk about the amazing men and women who serve in our armed forces. It filled us with gratitude and with pride. If you need to know more about the history of the holiday, we’ve got you covered here. Or if you’d like to hear from two women who are honoring the names of the vets in their lives by sharing acts of kindness with others, you can check that out here. Perhaps you will be inspired to do something good as well- not just on Veteran’s Day, but every day.
Just because Veteran’s Day 2015 is over, and we’re moving on to new topics here at One Unified, doesn’t mean that the discussion has to end. Out comments section is always open to share with us the names of vets that you would like to salute, or acts of kindness or bravery that you may witness.
We have seen so many businesses, restaurants, stores and companies extending special and well deserved offers, discounts and opportunities to veterans this past week. For example, Uber and Lyft offering free rides to vets going on job interviews. Perhaps you know of something that might interest our readers, especially those who are vets, or those who are close to vets? Let us know! Post it in the comments, or on our Facebook wall. We’re always open!
On a personal note, I’d like to take a moment to remember one special vet close to my heart, who I dearly loved and sadly miss. And to those vets close to me whom I have called neighbor, and friend, and brother, who have proudly and courageously served their nation, I have been honored to know and love each of you. There is no such courage greater than risking and sacrificing your life to protect the lives of others. You are all, nothing short of heroes! Thank you for your service.
