No Time Like the Present: 150 + ‘Bucket List’ Ideas to Bring you Joy

Every idea we have here at One Unified, every topic we cover, are things that we feel have the elements necessary to unite people. When we cover different topics and events every week, we know that you, our brilliant readers, can see those common threads. You understand that concerts, or art, or sporting events, or holidays, or loss, are all things that unite people. They are things that give them a common vision or shared state of being. So, even though we may not always come right out and connect the dots for you, our underlying vision remains unchanged. We want to connect people, and we want to share what moves us.

bucketlist2Naturally a bucket list is an extremely personal thing. You’d be hard pressed to find two that are exactly the same. Not quite something you’d describe as unifying. Yet, even if we have not written something down, or even thought about creating a list, we all have things that we want to do. The truth of the matter is, we are all only here for a little while. We are all going to meet our end someday. And in our minds, most of us have hopes and dreams and ideas that we’d like to see come to fruition before we leave this world. Whatever it is that moves you, whatever it is that touches you, whatever it is that you dream of, is likely to be what your own bucket list would be made up of.

As individualized as every list is, there are some common themes to bucket lists. A lot of the time lists include things like visiting other countries, finally reaching long time personal goals such as running a marathon, or making amends with people who we’ve been estranged from or had a falling out with. There are websites, books, and movies about bucket lists. Here are 20 of the most commonly cited things we found in our research, that people wish to do before they die.

Why wait? Why not get start working on your own list? It doesn’t have to be written, laminated, and set in stone (or permanent marker). It is a work in progress. An ever-changing, evolving entity which you can add to or take away from at any time throughout your life. There is no pressure to get them all done. The point is, get out and do what you want to do while you still can! Too often items on a list like this lives in the back of our minds for years, but seldom comes to pass until a near death experience, terminal illness, or loss of a loved one, lights a fire under us. Why not spark your own fire? You may not have the money today to trek to the Himalayas, but you can certainly learn to juggle, or do a good deed, or fly a kite while you’re preparing for those larger endeavors. And maybe some will never come to pass. Maybe you’ll never see a volcano erupt. But the hope, the dream, the pursuit of those goals and challenges, are what make life worth living!

We would really love to hear from you now!
What was your favorite item on our bucket list? Have you already completed some of these?
